i think i'm going to go for it and change out my Eldelbrock carb to a Holley.....my car has headers and a mild cam....what exact one should i order?.....the Street Advenger i heard?....770?.....my existing has an electric choke.....one that hooks directly to my Eldelbrock manifold hopefully

if your engine is mostly stock or reasonably mild you'd be much better off with the 670 than the 770. It'll be sharper and more responsive on the street, get better mileage, eat less spark plugs.

Actually, you didn't say what size engine you have? If it's a 454 or more run the 770. if it's closer to 400 inches than 454 run the 670. It'll be electric choke, no fiddling with the link rod and all that.

Ok by the looks of your pics its a Big block. I would go with the 770 also.

Fwiw, the 375hp/396 came stock w/ a 750 Holley, 3310- type carb on it, so onna them should be darn near perfect for you right out of the box.

670, same reasons as above. at 6000RPM at 90% volumetric efficiency (good for a street car) your engine requires 618CFM per accepted formulas. Doesn't take long to figure out if that's closer to 670 or 770. Even at 100% V.E. (not usually seen on street cars) it only needs 687CFM. Over-carbing is one of the most common errors made on these cars.

I have the 770 elec choke on my 402, estimated to be around 410 to 420 HP. Lunati 60203 cam, Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake, KB domed pistons, 049 heads. I sometimes think this may be to much carb for this engine. Always seems to be running rich, but I dodn't know if it's just me not knowing how to tune the carb or the carb itself. I wish I had a 670 to try out just to compare the two

Take 2 jet sizes out of the front, it will really clean things up for you.

If you do upgrade to a 454 you already have the 770.

Look, again, the vacuum secondary 3310-2 type carb WILL NOT over carb your engine and I will bet that you can pick one up off ebay or at a Swap Meet for a decent price and rebuild it a lot cheaper than you can buy the carb's the guys are talking about!

And when it's tuned, it will run great and you will be $Bucks ahead of the game!

And I don't feel good throwing the word "Demon" out or whatever when it costs my more MONEY!!

You wanna go one better, than install the rear insert jet taking plate so that it is like a 4150 carb and go!! Add the cheap plastic secondary vacuum spring top too!

As old "Honest Charley" used to say, "The 780 Holley is the runnin'est carb going"!!!
