Well I am rebuilding a 4160 3310 Holley carburetor for my friends chevelle. I am going to be removing the choke tower for him, and was wondering if you have any suggestions for me. I plan on using a hacksaw or my die grinder with a cut off wheel on it, and then cleaning it up with some grinding wheels. Any one else done this and have any tips or probelms they ran into?

I took a hack saw to my 3310 to get the bulk of it off, than between a milling machine and a 2" grinder with 50 grit disk's I got it all smoothed up. The milling machine really isnt nessasary, I just used it because I could.

Great..thanks..
Just talked to the guy that owns the carburetor, says to just keep it on since it is extra work, and he will be getting the proform body soon.
He does plan on converting the secondaries to a metering block with jets rather than just the meter plate that he currently has. It is a vacuum secondary carburetor. Any suggestion as to the jet size to start off with in the secondaries? I was thinking 74 or so? He is running the 72 in the primaries, but haven't been to the races with him before, and the 72s are what comes stock.
The motor is a 355 SBC ~11:1 compression 4.11 gear, and 3000 holeshot B&M converter.
Thanks.
