I am contemplating on changing the rear gears on my 12 bolt posi myself. What book or manual will I need for the dissassembly and re assembly? Preferably one with a parts list and or illustrations.

Duane, I see that Summit has a ring & pinion installation video for $17.95 by Richman Gear. Also look in any of the car magazines for gear manufacturers. Some also have videos. Check your library. I always check the internet first for any info. That's how I found out about this fantastic Chevelle site. Jon.

I have a 1972 Chevrolet Overhual Manual that gives you this information. It has 10 pages w/ at least 2 pics on each page. If you are a novice mechanic I wouldn't recommend doing this at home. There are alot of specialty tools and the process is rather exact.
