Hello. I recently purchased a 1971 Chevelle Malibu, and when the previous owner dropped the motor (350) and tranny (350 Turbo) back in he didn't hook everything up properly. He used rubber hose to connect the tranny to the cooling compressor and the vaccuum lines and kick-down linkage are not connected properly. The car runs and drives but will not shift into third. This is something I think I can manage myself with the proper lines, etc.... but I was wondering if there is a good book or on-line resource that I can refer to with step by step instructions? I am new to this but would love to figure it out on my own. Any suggestions? Thanks! Amy

welcome;
the vacuum line is hooked from the intake fitting to line going to the vacuum modulator on bottom side area of trans.
the kick-down linkage is hooked to the carb linkage with a ball that the cable end snaps onto. you will need the bracket that holds this linkage to the intake manifold though.
the cooler lines can be hooked to the side tank on the radiator with short lengths of rubber hose, it must be good quality hose made for oil&pressure.
the transmission might not go into third/high gear due to incorrect adjustment of the shifter linkage at firewall on a column shift or at the floor shifter if so equipped. good luck.:thumbsup:
