276 286 duration
221 230 duration @ .050''
0.454/.454 lift w/ 1.5 rocker

If those heads are original to your buddy's '93 pickup, they're NOT Vortecs. Vortec heads didn't begin production until 1996.
Not all center bolt valve covered heads are Vortec.
What's the casting numbers? You'd be needing either a 906 or a 062 casting.
But to answer your question...a .454 lift cam with 1.5 rockers would be fine for a stock spring.

Vortec heads were introduced in 96.

If the heads are correct for a 93, they are TBI swirl-port units. It doesn't get much worse than those. They are quite possibly the most anti-performance heads GM has produced for the 350.

If they are 193 castings, they are the duds. Run away, even if they're free.

nope they are the 906 vortecs, he had a 97 that he wrecked with 29000 miles and swapped motors before the insurance company took it.

how do you guys think that cam will work out? The truck has 3.73 gears and a stock stall torque converter in a TH350 with a shift kit.

Where's placerville? I have that same exact cam brand new in the box,(used a diff cam in my build) its one of Harold's Ultradynes before he went to Lunati. Could save you some money if you're interested.
