where/how do you correctly locate the inner mounting bracket?

One way is to bolt the inner bracket to the seat, then place the seat in the car and put in the outer bolts, mark the inner brackets on the floorboard then romove the seats and weld/bolt the inner brackets in.

if i remember correctly the bolt pattern is not square but slightly staggered??
