Last year at the local airport/dragstrip I ran a best 1/8 mile 7.931 at 94.05 mph with a 2.044 60 ft. This year at the drags I had a faster ET of 7.834 but my MPH was lower with a 91.46 mph and a 1.900 60 ft. Why is my MPH lower this year, or is this normal because I'm running faster et's. I did change the jets from 75/80 to 78/86 but wouldn't my et's be crappy also if I was running rich.
Any thoughts about where my MPH went? I had one run last year of damn near 95 mph. I was hoping to go faster not slower.
Even with the mph that I'm running now It seems like my et's should be lower, just from looking at what other guys are running.
Thanks

Look at the 1/8 mile time and speed in my sig. I haven't had a 94 mph TS, yet. Were you running 94 often or just that one time? I usually run low 7.40's with occassional high 7.30's at 92 mph. I rarely hit 93 mph. 60's and traction play into this. I've seen MPH go up a bit as 60' times go up and ET's go up.
Where you stage can effect both ET and MPH. Deep staging can give you a quicker RT (very helpful with a slow reacting driver or car) but lower ET and mph. When you shallow stage, the car has farther to go to release the starting beam (more rollout). Therefore, the car is rolling faster before the start beam is released than with deep staging. The mph will be higher and the ET can be lower and reaction times are longer(helpful with a quick reacting car).
I agree that at 91+ mph you should have a better ET. Lowering the 60's times will help there.

Out of 5 passes last year they were all in the 94.** mph area. This year out of 5 passes they were all 90-91 mph. I'm using a Carter fuel pump the same as this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7917879601&indexURL=0&photoDisplayType=2
and thinking it's not cutting the mustard and is getting worse as time goes by, my fuel pressure gauges drop quite a bit when I'm getting on it.

Spinning off the line will typically net you higher mph vs a good hook up off the line. You trade mph for better ET's
