: 69 Bucket seats
f14tomcat Sep 21st, 08, 8:44 AM I was just wondering what a bench seat out of a 69 chevelle would be worth?
It has been recovered in the correct vinyl and has both head rests that are in excellent shape.
If it's not worth a whole lot I will just put it in the shop and use it as a "couch".
WHAT IS IT WORTH?
PS. I have a set of Bucket seats to replace the bench as sooon as I get the Buckets restored.

Mine is coming out next month and I'm going with the couch and 4X4 wood posts with casters so I can wheel it around. Just gotta figure out how long to cut the posts so it doesn't fall over backwards :D.
f14tomcat Sep 23rd, 08, 1:26 PM Cool idea, I can bolt some casters on the brackets and move it around.
doc j Sep 23rd, 08, 4:33 PM I sold the bench out of my 69 for 40 bucks back in '05. Put it on craigs list and see what happens?
Gave my 69 bench to a guy that wanted headrests in his 68. He will remain nameless. ;)
f14tomcat Sep 23rd, 08, 5:48 PM Will the headrests off my 69 bench seat fit a 69 or 70 bucket seat?
Will the headrests off my 69 bench seat fit a 69 or 70 bucket seat?
No. The bench headrest has a single flat rectangular mounting post and the bucket HR has two round posts.
RyanNilcea05 Sep 23rd, 08, 7:25 PM I'd say it's got to be worth $100...
edgewoodrx Sep 23rd, 08, 10:43 PM A seat cover is close to 200 bucks, plus labor to put it on, so a recovered, nice bench seat should sell for 100 bucks without too much trouble. The only issue with bench seats are the cost and inconvenience of shipping

It will fall over backwards that way, sitting on the garage floor it wants to fall over backwards, I'm thinking extend back with the 4X4's for support.
I sold the bench seat out of my 69 about 5 years ago for $150.00. It had been recovered ( looked good ) and had both headrests. Some of the springs were a little weak especially where the driver sat and probably should have been replaced when the new cover was installed but they weren't.
Jim Mac Oct 8th, 08, 10:51 PM I got $200 for the black cloth bench out of my 68, not original cover, but in tucson summers you do not want vynle. The seat was only out of the shop about 6 months. Jim
Tal7123 Oct 9th, 08, 5:16 PM I just had list one on ebay. I did not get one bid. I would have given it away just to get out of my garage.
Mr69 Oct 11th, 08, 4:15 AM I shipped a 68 Nova bench seat from CA to New Orleans LA in two boxes using DHL a while back. cost was right at $100 for both boxes.
it's not as bad as some think......
