I have a NOS 65 dash mount clock, but it only has a card with mounting holes to mark out and says to line up with defroster vent, but nothing about were to mount it in the factory location.
Does anyone have this clock factory mounted, maybe a pic.

Thanks
Jim

How can that be the factory location, the defrost vent is 9" or longer, the mounting spot could be either end of the defrost.

If you have a dash pad, remove the dash pad and you'll find a depression in the metal on the underside made for mounting the clock. That's where it goes. The clock should mount directly in the middle of the dash. Mount it in line with the center of the defrost vent grill.

If you want photos, you can find some on my SS web site.

Also, if the windshield is currently in the car you'll play heck drilling the holes in the dash for the clock without damaging something.

Thanks Rich, but I can't seem to find an dimples or impressions on the dash. Windshield hasn't been installed yet luckly. I'm going to go look again at the dash and try and find any mount impressions.

Thanks

Rich-L79, is there a hole cut in the dash for the clock or is the mount and screws thru the dash pad and screwed to the metal dash.

Don't bother looking for dimples in the dash, the depression I'm talking about is on the underside of the dash pad. If you don't have a dash pad, don't bother looking.

To mount the clock you need three holes: one largish hole for the wiring and two smaller holes for the mounting screws. If you have a dash pad, all three holes go through both the dash pad and the underlying dash panel metal. The mounting screws actually attach to the dash panel, they only pass through the dash pad.

Perhaps these will help:
