I was wondering what setup for the water pump and fan you guys are running. I notice on cars at the track that they appear to be using an electric water pump and dual electric fan combination. Can someone give some specifics on these setups. BTW, I have a 454 which I will be racing. Thanks :D

I run an $11 rebuilt pump and the Moroso electric drive kit. When the pump dies I'll get another cheap rebuilt. Cools the engine just fine between rounds. I have a Black Magic fan but it is overkill for drag racing. Don't know anything about the dual fans.

Running a flex fan and I believe stock water pump.......works just peachy for me. (except when i'm cutting myself on it)

I had a clutch fan on there before, but had to take it off. Clutch burnt out. All i'd say is don't use a clutch fan.....I personally hate them.

I ran the same type of parts as Pat Kelley for quite a few yrs.I dont know what the flow rate is for the Moroso w/p drive or what CFM the fan I had on it moves. I picked up a dual fan from a Nissan ( ? ) at a swap meet about 3 yrs. ago and I dont know the CFM rating for it either. It made a big difference in cool down times between rounds. As for Racing the electric pumps are great since you can leave them off till the engine warms up and leave it on to cool it down. If you run an elctric water pump and fan I would suggest getting a " tic toc " switch for it.

John, I'm running a Mezierre 55gal electric pump with dual Spal electric fans and a custom alum radiator. The motor runs right at the t-stat setting (165dg) whether I'm on the road or idling in the drive way. Recently pulled the t-stat and have a hard time getting the temp up above 140dg but have'nt taken it for a long drive yet.

i bought a aerospace components electric water pump and the dual flex-a-lite electric fans.the fans fit absolutely perfect on my speedway aluminum radiator.i bought the largest of the three speedway radiators offered and the fans cover every inch of it with no room to squeeze in a credit card edgewise on either end of the radiator/fan mating surface.i haven't got the old chevelle going yet but i'm happy with the fit and quality of the components.
