This is my first post since joining the site.I work at a local auto parts chain and was wondering do anyone know how much hp one of those typical part store rebuilt motors can handle (small or big block)with mods like cylinder heads and cams,ect before they fail?

My personal opinion is it would be a huge waste of your money to start with that type of foundation for any kind of performance build.

If you work in a parts store you know what these deals sell for & you know what decent parts cost so a little common sense should tell you that somewhere for this kind of price there had to be some corners cut to build it.
You are in an area that has a lot of performance people & shops & I would spend the time to check a few out including asking all the fine people on here that post from your area & there are a lot ;)
