Are there any roller rockers out there that are low enough to run low valve covers? I have an ac car and tall covers will get in the way of the ac bracket.

How about the stock looking rocker arms with the roller tip? If you're running a/c,I doubt roller rockers will improve performance much. There are lots of us running roller rockers that don't need them, YET smile.gif

I have the Trick Flow heads with goofy valve angles (Twisted Wedge) and Comp Cams Pro Magnum rockers.

Had to carve the drippers off the cast aluminum LT-1 covers, and grind clearance into the side of the covers for the intake rockers because they're repositioned.

With standard valve angle heads, I don't know why you'd need to do anything to make standard covers fit, other than to lose the drippers if the cover has them. Far as I'm aware, the tall covers are to clear stud girdles, not roller rockers.

im going to be running the esdelbrock rpm heads. i dont want to run roller rockers but from what ive been told on here on other post, ive been told i should. Is running a good aftermarket stock rocker fine?

I'd think they would be plenty good for a street engine that stays under 6000 rpm. I think those 30-40 hp gain claims are bogus.

More like 5-10 horsepower from all the rockers having correct ratios.

If you do some searching regarding this issue you'll see a few have got away with using double valve cover gaskets to clear full roller rockers with stock covers, just remove the drippers like stated above

good luck

Just last night installed stock 72 402 no dripper valve covers over harland sharp 1.7 to 1 rocker arms using fel pro 1630 5/16th's gaskets. Works fine.

I run crane roller rockers in my street motors and Mr Gasket makes a thicker valve cover gasket. I don't know about hp gain but what I like is start it run it. No cam break in.

Slow Dude, Thats sweet, I had to "releive " my tall covers in 2 spots to make them work with my H.S. rollers. Although, I think I could of just ground the corner of the rocker... graemlins/clonk.gif

I have the rpm heads with crane 1.6 race rockers. I "think" you can get away with some thick gaskets as mentioned. I tried the low profile edelbrock signature covers and they barely scuffed. Although I did go to tall vave covers I have a feeling the thick gaskets and a little work on the baffling inside the shorts would have been okay. I also tried some old MT short unbaffed valve covers which worked just fine.

Of course there is no cam break-in after installing rocker arms, but I hope you didnt do it this way with a new motor???

I run solid roller cams. Roller lifters. Crane golden rockers. I have used Comp Cams also with good luck. I just like roller motors. As said "no break in" Fire it up and go!!
