I have a 11.0-1 383 with Eddy perf RPM heads, I also have on that motor a set of hooker comp series headers. I am using a copper seal gasket for sealing purposes. One seems to be leaking at #4 and #6. Is there a way to stop it? I was thinking of sandwiching another soft gasket I have between the head and the header itself what do you think? I tightened them in the correct manner, but it still seems to leak on me, causing an afterfire on that bank.
thanks! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

well I just replaced the copper seal gasket with the paper type that came with my headers.. torqued it down, heated it up, torqued it again.. all is well...

I use the Earls header gaskets on both my Chevelle with full length headers and my Yukon with shorty headers. Wonderful units, they even have replaceable inserts. The Yukon is pushing 60K miles with no problems. The Chevelle is body off frame right now but it ran 40K before disassembly with no problems. I use the locking header bolts on both.

tighten em down a couple more times after you heat cycle them, paper gaskets work fine as long as the flange is flat.
