Just got back in from the three day Bristol Bash at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. Man, this event was incredible! I have never been to a nicer facility, seen so many fast cars and met so many nice people. I drove up Friday morning and met my friend Gordon Warren and his dad there. Friday and Saturday were time trials/exhibitions and eliminations were today. I originally thought that I would be running in a class called "Muscle on the Mountain", but regretably they didn't have that class. My car ran good all weekend. I made a total of 19 passes over the course of the three days. My best ET was 10.88 (had three of those), one on each day smile.gif . Of the 19 runs the slowest (discounting another failed attempt at luanching on the brake) was 10.99. My car ran within .07 on 15 of the 19 passes (10.88-10.95). Most 60' times were in the 1.53-1.57 range.

I attempted to run in the Quick 16 race. I found myself on the bump spot (#16) in the first round of qualifying with a 10.91 :( The bump dropped to 10.75 in the second round of qualifying. I believe the bump spot ended up being in the low 10 second range (or lower). The fastest car in the Q16 qualifying went 8.95. Total tube chassis race car, etc... I had my car all loaded up last night planning to leave first thing this morning since I didn't have a race to run in. When I got to the track this morning I couldn't resist the temptation so I unloaded the car and made a couple more passes. I was watching the first round of the Quick 16 eliminations and I noticed that one of the cars dialed an 11.04. WTH? I found out later that three of the really fast cars couldn't make the call due to mechanical failures. Not sure why I wasn't called since my qualifying pass of 10.91 was faster than the 11.04 car. Perhaps they called my name before I got to the track? I didn't arrive until 9:30 and the gates opened at 8:00.

One of our fellow TC'ers was there, Andrew ? with a really nice red GTO/502/6 speed. He was competing in the Real Street Eliminator. Super car.

Folks, this is a really cool event. If you've never been I highly recommend you go next year. They have a ton of stuff for everyone to do. My wife and kids came up Friday night and had a blast too. Lot's of activities for the kids/parents. Anyway, sorry to ramble.

That's great Ken, glad you guys had fun. I went up there last year, and it was pretty cool. I wish they would have a bracket class though, just making time runs gets boring after a while. I didn't get to go this year because of another obligation, but I hope to go next year.
