I have two spare '69 tailight lenses in my garage. One is made in the US and one in Canada (obviously different tooling). One has silver paint around the outside and the other does not.

Do I have an 2 OEs for Malibu/300, an OE/aftermarket, or is this a CAN/US manufacture difference? Thoughts?

I'm bringing her back to the top as well Ron.

Ron, I don't have the answer you seek, but I can add this antecdote: Chevy II's in '66-'67 had different construction of the tail light bezels between U.S & Canada. The U.S. versions were potmetal, while the Canadian versions were of nice steel and chrome. It is conceivable that the U.S vs. Canada differences in the bezels exist. I believe the front marker bezels on the '68s were of different construction between the 2 countries as well.

Finally! I stump the resto experts! What do I win? :D

I might have guessed that the one without the paint was a repop except that is was made in Canada - I doubt any repop company would find that economical.

Years ago I bought two rear lenses for a '69 at a swap meet. Both were NOS and in GM boxes. One had silver paint around the edge and one didn't. Other than the paint they both looked the same. Someone suggested that one was for a Malibu and one for an SS. I used both on my Chevelle.
