I have decided to rebuild my first trans. It is a turbo 350. I build everything myself except the trans so its time to expand. What i need to know is what tools besides a good set of snap ring pliers do i need to do this and what is a good reference source to do this. Thanks

You need the bearing removal and installation tool....and anytime I rebuild a tranny I've never done I get the manual for that tranny..Usually they cost about $15 . Here around memphis we purchase all our parts at supplier for all the local shops...They are always cheaper than local parts houses who usually only sell haynes books that aren't always IMHO all that good...A good tranny stand helps alot also. PM cessnarob he's done a bunch of 3 speeds and will know more about upgrades while your in it...

Well I have about 15 engines out there running on the streets and a few on some race tracks I just never messed with a trans. Now I have one that lost foward gears but still has reverse. I think thats well within my mechanical abilities so that would be a good first start.
