That type of hunting makes you wonder... Did they make it legal because someone decided there's too many gators, or too many people? :o

Both. The influx of people is encroaching on the gators home turf and the ban on hunting has allowed the numbers to creep up.
daveseitz Sep 14th, 08, 3:18 PM That is terrible hunting the poor gators, I'm sending the PETA folks down to your area.
I will instruct them to wait in the swamps and scare the gators away from you hunters. :D It just doesn't get any better then that.

How are they going to know if I "captured and subdued" it before I dispatched it?
68KMENO Sep 14th, 08, 5:10 PM before being allowed a Gator hunting licence .....
it should be mandtory to watch the movie Primeval
anyone wishing to purchase one after that should have to take an I.Q. test

Go to the link I have in the first post, it will explain it better than I can. But basically the DNR will be right on top of the whole process. The DNR(gamewardens)has enough authority to put lawbreaking individuals in more trouble than the FEDS.
