I want to make my exhaust louder, how bad would the backfire be if i had purple hornies hooked up behind headers and a mild 350.

You mean attached right after the headers? That's going to be really loud....annoyingly loud. Also i've been told that it makes for a pretty restrictive exhaust. There's really no benefit to it. What do you have for exhaust right now?

Right now i'm running headers > 2.5" pipe > flowmasters (not sure what series) > more 2.5" pipe and then turndowns before the rear axle. It's easy to take off, and put on for trips to the dragstrip. Sounds really good to me and it's pretty loud. You might want to give that a shot. Just a thought.

Purple hornies are just a straight thru glass pac.
I wouldn't think they'd be restrictive at all.
Bolted directly to the header will burn them out in a hurry....talk about loud!

I had 18s right behind my manifolds on my old 350... lasted 6 months until I hit them with the hose :D and CRACK!!! I also had pipes until the axle so the sound wouldn't just sit in the cockpit. it was only 1 5/8 ID pipe  and you could hear me half a mile away!!

I run Cherry bomb no restriction header mufflers (straight through) and that's it with no pipes behind them. Loud ...OH YEAH, I love it!!

If you mean what we used to call "suck back" =a popping noise when you let off the gas, mine doesn't do that.
