Anyone ever notice in that Seinfeld episode where George borrows his dad's '68 GTO, it is really a '67?

Kinda like the country song talking about a "shackled up GTO". How do you shackle coil springs?

Kinda like the country song talking about a "shackled up GTO". How do you shackle coil springs? If it's a '74 GTO, it would have leaf-springs as they were based on the X-body (Nova) chassis. (what a disgrace to the GTO name BTW)

Same kind of thing in the movie Shawshank Redemption. Andy breaks out of Shawshack prision in 1966. On his way to freedom it shows him driving what I believe is a 1970 GTO. It is definately a 68-70 convertable Lemans or GTO. He was ahead of his time. Maybe he fashioned that Pontiac with his rock hammer!!!!

I see this stuff all the time, and it drives my wife nuts when I point it out...

"Walk the Line" Ford wagon with Torq-Thrust IIs in 1955??? :noway:

I like watching cars "change" years/makes/models right before they crash. :D

One movie (forget the name), a butternut yellow '69 SS chevelle changes to a '68 then gets T-boned by a truck

"Nash Bridges" a monster-truck kept changing back & forth between a 67-72 Chevy, and an 80s Ford. (for a while, I thought there was 2 trucks trying to crush the 'cuda)

"Malcom in the Middle" a blue Chevelle kept changing between scenes from a '68 with "Yenko" hood stripes to a '71 or 72 with SS stripes.

"Walker Texas Ranger" a 4th Gen Trans-Am changes to a 3rd Gen right before being launched into the Gulf.

You can't forget "Vanishing Point" when the '70 Challenger turns into a '67 Camaro right before it hits the bulldozers.

How bought Gone in 60 seconds when Nicholas Cage and his movie brother are driving down the street in a beat up 71 or 72 Chevelle and the inside camera view is that of a new car right before it gets obliterated by gun fire.
Pinks all Out the other night showed an in camera view from the right lane car. You could see the left lane car was a Mustang (which the guy raced a few rounds before), but during this round he was against a Camaro. Totally different colors as well.

In the movie Walk Hard the dewy cox story, they made fun of these screw ups by having him do an outside concert in the mid 60's and the cars driving by were late model stuff

There's the episode of Laverne & Shirley where they're eating cereal for breakfast and the box on the table is a Wheaties box with Bruce Jenner winning the Decathlon in the
'76 Olympics. 64elkynss

Home Improvement, Tim's first car, a 63 Corvair, gets crushed and Jill buys him an, "exact replacement", a 66 Corvair that doesn't remotely resemble the 63.

Where were you in '62, American Graffiti. It's '62 but in the driving scenes near the movies beginning they keep driving by a parked 68 Chevy.

Home Improvement, Tim's first car, a 63 Corvair, gets crushed and Jill buys him an, "exact replacement", a 66 Corvair that doesn't remotely resemble the 63.Also, the episode when Tim dropped the beam on the '55 Nomad... the car the beam fell on was actually a 2dr wagon, not a Nomad.

Where were you in '62, American Graffiti. It's '62 but in the driving scenes near the movies beginning they keep driving by a parked 68 Chevy.I've looked and looked, and only spot it once, when Kurt was riding with the "Pharoahs" in the Merc, you see it out the back window briefly.

The Studebaker the girls were driving, and Steve's '58 Impala have the same license plate number JPM-351

The 55 that burns doesn't have radiused wheel-wells, has bumper-guards, and is a 2dr hardtop instead of a sedan... it's also not sitting at the same angle that the stunt car landed when it flipped.

Its also got single exhaust and silver painted steel wheels instead of chrome.
