OK, last year, the front bowl needle and seat threads gave out on my vintage 3310-2.
Got a "fire sale" 750 DP, pirated the front float bowl.
A few weeks back, my vintage 3310-2 spit-up the rear needle and seat.

What is the fix or just "get another float bowl!"

If something like J-B-Weld then drill and tap, what is the drill size? What is the tap size for the threads? Not in a basic tap and die set....that would make sense.

Any creative suggestion is welcome

Thanks in Advance.

Really glad a Craigslist 800DP for $100 worked-out well......

think about the consequences if the repair fails. got good fire insurance all paid up? It'll squirt right on the distributor.

Buy a bowl

Don't even think about using epoxy for a repair here.

FWIW, repair inserts are available, but they are difficult to install correctly (read: expensive fix) and are best suited for repairing a rare or hard-to-find part.

Hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm,
I guess it is "Buy a bowl!"
And yes, I do know exactly where Holleys shoot fuel when this feature wears out!
One of my top 5 reasons for hating Holleys.
Just glad I found the issues while in the garage and not on some roadtrip.

I hear the problem is fairly common, naturally older carbs with lotsa use.
You'd think SOMEONE would make some needle and seats or a slightly larger diameter so the bowls could get drilled/tapped to this size and see more service life.

There is an oversize needle & seat offered to salvage a stripped bowl, but it's not worth the trouble to install.

By chance were you using a B/W style needle & seat when the bowl stripped?

(fwiw, there's some worthwhile info about 1/2 way down on page 2 and 3/4 down on page 3 of this thread (http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/327995/page/0/fpart/1/vc/1) over on the yenko.net site re: the B/W needle & seats)

Buy a bowl or have a cell phone and fire extinguisher on hand.

Re: those B&W needle/seat assemblies. I always assume that any Holley that has those has stripped out fuel bowls. I can't recall the last time I was wrong on this, probably early 80's or so.

The B&W power valves are junk too.

Never use anything but a genuine Holley kit on a Holley carb.
