I recently ordered and received new door panels for my '65 coupe. None of the trim was on them and I figured it would be easy to swap over. There is a small bowtie that has some push on clips holding it on but they're very small and it looks like they'll be ruined if I pull them off. There is also a chrome strip near the bottom. In the cardboard backing there are small "x" cuts like a post should penetrate there and have the same push through clips on them but there is nothing coming through. I'm sure I can remove it if I'm careful but I figured I'd check on here before I did anything as I'm not in a rush. Any feedback about how to get the chrome strip off or where to get the push through clips in the event they get damaged would be appreciated.

I can't help you with the lower trim, but the bowtie emblem clips are easily removed with small needle nose pliers. Just rotate the clip while pulling up. If you ruin a clip, no big deal Lowe's has press on clips that work perfectly.

The bottom strip does not use posts, but rather uses a pointed, sharp clip that gets folded over after it is thru the board. Seems like there are about 12 holes but the aftermarket strip only has about 8 'pins'. After attaching, it didn't seem that there would be an issue.

On my '65 the chrome strip was glued on the original door panel.
I believe they sell aftermarket moulding with the fold over clips.

Just rotate the clip while pulling up.
