: 5/16 or 3/8 tape for my 72 windshield?

The catalogs recommend 3/8 which is prob what GM used. Any of you guys install a windshield lately? I just don't want to use the larger stuff then have an issue getting the trim on.

How timely, we just did the windshield on our 72 this past weekend.
5/16 if putting the factory glass back in.
3/8 if using aftermarket reproduction. they are thinner!?
this was confirmed by the old timer at our local supply house.
and he was right.
dont forget the cleaner & primer..

Right on. That's my experience too. If a replacement WS, use 3/8" ribbon. 5/16" with replacement WS glass will leave a gap between glass and trim. The replacement rear glass that I've had however, was the same thickness as factory original and required 5/16" ribbon for proper trim fit.
