: Carb spacer, which does it do? Give more bottom or top end?

Well, I bought a plastic 2" carb spacer, just for the heck of it, for really cheap. I haven't tuned/adjusted the motor, but it seems to bog off the line, and my bottome end/torque doesn't seem to be the way it used to be. So which is it, does a carb spacer "kill" your torque while enhancing the top end, or is it suppose to enhance your bottom end while sacrificing your top end?

I'm planning on taking the spacer off, without tunning/adjusting the motor, then see how it drives. If the bogging and sluggishness goes away, then I guess it's safe to safe that the spacer was the culprit. If it drives the same, then I'll have to tune and adjust the motor and re-test it.

I bet you will find the bog is not enough squirt from the accelerator pump when you first step on it, did you have the bog befor the spacer? what carb do you have?

Spacers usually help the top end.

Rocky Carb is a Holley 750VS 4160 3310-6 carb. As for it's "specs", I have no idea but to assume it's the way it left Holley. If memory serves me right, I believe I had a slight bog/hesitation, but nothing compared to the way it is right now.
