: New Pics - '69 SS Engine Installed
Dan Orgill Sep 8th, 08, 12:01 PM Fellas ( & ladies ),
I finally got the motor home and got it installed. Just took my time, didn't scratch anything ( Whew! ). I've still got lots to do, but everything in good time.
Hoping to get it fired up by around November.

Team Chevelle has Blogs, I just found out. Maybe cool to document your progress along with embedded photos - be great source for those following your project.

Dan Orgill Sep 8th, 08, 12:57 PM Thanks for the kind words, guys.
Dan,
I haven't looked at the blogs, how do they work?
1969 El Camino Dan Sep 8th, 08, 1:17 PM On the second tool bar, left side, second button is the blogs.
Left side of the Blogs page are tools to create your own.
I use Picasa to upload my digital pics to my computer, I then create PicasaWeb albums for my interests. After editing and uploading the pics, I copy and paste the pics URL into the TC message or blog post using the add picture tool.
Check out my progress blog at the bottom of my sig.

69396ss Sep 8th, 08, 5:13 PM I'm even liking the Polished Intake and Chrome Thermostat housing.
Not being a Slave to "Bone stock correct" is probably saving you a few grand and making things a whole lot more fun.
I think my next project is a triple black 69 with plenty of Chrome and Crager's with the rear up in the air a bit, Headers, 3" Exhaust. and an overdrive trans.
Fun stuff.
sparky1698 Sep 8th, 08, 5:15 PM Very nice:thumbsup:
Lookin' good Dan.

Dan Orgill Oct 30th, 08, 7:31 PM Just took a quick few shots today. The car was taken in for exhaust, alignment & engine break in today. Hopefully have 'er back in a couple of days. I'm very eager to hear how it sounds with the Magnaflow mufflers and the Voodoo 60203 cam:yes:. Hopefully she'll have some rumpity rump..
It feels really weird knowing that after almost 9 years the car will be able to move under it's own power, just keeping fingers crossed that the initial break-in goes smoothly.
704EVER Oct 30th, 08, 8:18 PM :thumbsup::thumbsup: Nice job Dan, it looks great!!!! I know all to well what your going through, it's called anticipation!!!! I'll bet you can't wait!! I hope everything goes well!!

shadowgray396 Oct 31st, 08, 8:14 AM Nice job, you should be proud of the work you have done. Hope all goes well with the break in. I can wait to get mine fire again after three years. I have a few months to go before that happens. Keep up the good work and share some more pictures as you move along.
Ray :beers:

Dan Orgill Oct 31st, 08, 2:33 PM Thanks for all the kind words, they are much appreciated. I'll have some minor paint touch ups on the motor to do, but I expected that.
Wow Dan! It looks amazing. Is that a stealth intake?
Yes, it is. Had it Jet Hot coated in " Sterling " finish along with the t-stat housing.
Looking Good. It will feel great to hear it for first time. If you can post sound of exhaust. I would like to hear it. Brian
I'll have to see what my lil' digital camera is capable of. I'll certainly try.
Dan Orgill Nov 1st, 08, 1:49 PM Couple more pics, the exhaust work is well underway. The shop had all the flanges and other welds done with a tig welder. The look very neat & tidy.
I recognize that craftsmanship, Master Performance. The very best at what they do, and take pride in every job. Nice to have them right in your backyard, Very nice Dan!

Thanks Chris. I'm trying to walk a fine line here between Stock & Day 2. Obviously, things like my intake & headers jump out pretty quickly, and coatings weren't avl. back in the day, but anything not changed, I'm trying to make look as stock as possible. Next year once I get to my wheels/tires, it'll be American Racing TTD w. radial redlines.
mr 4 speed Nov 2nd, 08, 1:52 PM Dan,I am in the day 2 deal with my car...I have headers and the intake..thats about it.
SebJr Nov 2nd, 08, 3:20 PM I am in the day 2 deal with my car...

Hooker Headers into 3" aluminized mandrel headpipes, 18" Magnaflows into 2 1/2" Flowmaster mandrel tailpipes.

Thomas_Mac Nov 4th, 08, 8:05 PM The car looks great, I can`t imagine your excitement after 9 years in the making, mine was just down for the winter and it nearly killed me, I`m hoping to make it to the Niagara show next july, hopefully you make it as well:thumbsup:
