Just curious how far into the year they built cars-at our chevelle show my buddy had his Gm paperworkhis 1970 chevelle was built on June30,1970 and shipped July1,1970-When would they have statred buiding the 71's?His is an Oshawa built car.Keep on cruising-Dave.

I think they started building them in july maybe august for the next model year.

Has a few 67 items on it too.

I would think the new year would start in August

On the reverse side, my 70 has a build date of 08C, 3rd week of August, 1969 with a sequence number of 102249 making it the 2,249th unit off the line.

I agree with the above. August is the beginning of the model year.

Current year was to the end of June. July was shutdown for model changeover and August was startup for new models. These are approximate dates.
