Any members here go to the big show this weekend? Great show, many fast cars, and, of course, our fair share of downtime between scheduling and guys breaking on the track. Had a great time with some old friends and one in particular, his '33 Pontiac coupe, which unfortunately, didn't make the all out 16. He didn't run with the blower (his usual setup on the car) and had times of 10.68 to 10.88, varying because of time of day runs were made and actually having a tailwind in 2 of 4 runs.
I didn't stay for the final 8 because that place is a zoo getting out and I wanted to see who the guys actually were, rather than just hearing what the bet was and then seeing the outcome because the announcer was the only person we could hear, not Rich or the racers.
There were a ton of Novas, most of them early to mid 60's, quite a few Chevelles, and of course, many Camaros. I believe that 3 or 4 of the all out 16 were 64 to 66 Chevelles. Hopefully other TC members from this area who were there will chime in about this also. All in all, it was a pretty cool event that I probably will go to whenever Pinks A-O comes to Infineon again. 64elkynss

The NHRA could learn something here. It seems the Pinks All Out events are a huge success every where they go. Not only that, the Speed Channel might as well rename itself the Pinks Channel. Seems evertime I flip on the Speed, Pinks reruns are on. Or the other show were they guess the time, which is a Pinks show.

Just found out for you guys that are interested -- I was told that a 66 Chevelle won on this episode to be shown on Thanksgiving day. Mark it on the calendar. 64elkynss

you know,my wife and i were talking about the show last night. i love drag racing, all of it. one of my favorite classes was pro stock, that's before they basically became funny cars. anyway, when i was young, you couldn't wait to go to the races, back then, we would watch door slammers all day, then get to see the fuel cars run late in the day, it was just kind of the topping on the cake, but now a days, i go to the track, and sit in the bleachers by myself during the door slammers, when the fuel cars run, you can't breath because of all the people, then it empties as fast as it filled, and there i am, watching the door slammers.

i can't wait for a p.a.o. to be close enough for me to go to, a full day of mostly door slammers would just make my day....
