I know that at about 10.1 compression you have to start thinking of higher octane gas depending on your DCR. What I'd like to know is what octane gas should be used for what compression ratios? In other words when is 110 needed over 104 etc?

Hi John. I am not an expert by no means, but at 10:1, I still think you can run on 93, maybe with a little ocatane booster.

On a side note, are you located on LI? Have you been to K-Mart on Tues, or are you more of a Bald Hill kind of guy?

I go to bald hill once every week or two, but I have been known to spend a sunday morning at captree every so often as well. Always nice to see a bunch of bad ass street machines in one place.

I have 10:1 CR and I run 92 with no problems.

About 8.3-8.5 DCR is where race gas needs to start being considered. Over 8.5 it is needed. Above that, and when 110 or 114 are needed, I don't know.
