: rebuild mine or buy?

I have a set of stock -781 BB heads, that have never been touched...I can have them totally redone for about $650, pocket ported, new valves, etc..for about $650 plus freight to the shop. (out of state)

or, I recently bought some top end parts from a guy that ran in a 3400 car some 10.90's, bought the modified 850 carb, Vic intake, Harland roller rockers, cam and lifters, timingchain, pushrods, etc....and he has some ported and already done -781's that he spend a good chunk of change on. Pics look good of them...for about the same price....

what do you recommend, buy his since they already match everything I bought already (springs) or have mine redone? If I buy his, I can hopefully sell these stock ones to recoop some return.

Feedback?

If those heads have never been touched, no valve job nothing; then... by all means build your own heads.
Put a good serdi valve job on them, good valves, narrow stem , (there`s power differences in valve selection as I`m sure you know).

Do your own bowl and port work.
Put 2.25 int`s. 1.88 exh`s and then you will absolutely know exactly what you have when done graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Hey Tracy...ask these guys...they seem to think they can get the same work done much cheaper.
