Hey guys my car is almost complete and I have pictures of its progress. It is going to be radical in the sense that i havent seen anything like it done correctly. You guys will see it when I get the webpage up and running, but i'm wondering since i want to get a real low down-in-the weeds stance, would bags in the rear instead of springs be ok? I've been around the air bag scene for a while now and I know the pros and cons, but i havent heard of anything regarding drag racing. Would drag racing be hindered with bags in the rear? The springs I have now have had a few coils taken off to get it lower, but bags would save the comfort factor of the car. Does anybody have any ideas?

The air bags go inside the springs, not in lieu of the springs.

I know there are the springs that have bags inside of them, but what i'm asking about is a set up with just bags and shocks in the rear. My car used to have a full air ride set up on it when it had the 307. When I bought it, I decided to make some changes geared towards drag racing. Now that it's almost done and my wheels are on, I want to go lower then springs will allow. The adjustability of bags is wonderful. I can put bags in just the rear and since I have the spots for the compressor and valves already cut out, i can just put the stuff back in. I hear that tracks ban cars with full air ride set ups, and its no mystery why, but what about just the back two bags?

Hmmmm,
Interesting concept. I've just seen a lot of cars with 2" drop springs and air bags, ladder bars or adjustable trailing arms. Never seen any with just shocks and air bags, on a conventional street car.

Should still work pretty good. Just have make sure the bags are valved seperatley, so you can adjust pressure from side to side.
