Purchased a new double roller speed set.
Have it with me and am about to replace my chain on my 72 Chevelle tomorrow because mine has never been replaced and I believe is worn or have jumped. Posted earlier questions on here and have heard this may cause my problems so I already have a new one... why not replace it?
Anyway, I have read but have some questions: Are you supposed to align it to TDC on the compression stroke for the #1 Cylinder and then align the dots (6 o'clock on cam, 12 on crank) with the chain and go from there? Or would that classify being 180 degrees off because 6 o'clock on the chain isn't at TDC for the #1. Wouldn't that be the #6 and then it would have to be rotated (crank) 1 more revolution for them to align at 12 on both for the number 1 cylinder on the compression stroke...? Pretty confused on this. I'm sure someone here can help me with an easy answer. I believe I know what to do but more info would help me a lot.
Any info would be great on how to do this.
Or, do I just rotate the crank by hand and then align the dots and then redo the ignition timing or whatnot? First time doing this. Seems easy, but definitely don't wanna make a mistake. Thanks for the help.

I haven't slept in 35 hours... may contribute. Working way too much with school everyday trying to fix cars just doesn't work out too well without sleep. Thanks, look forward to responses tomorrow. Goodnight all.
