This is kind of a performance question. I have a set of reproduction mirrors on my '69, every time I go down the strip they come off of the brackets. The passenger side has already scratched the pain. Does anyone make a quality mirror that fits on the brackets well and won't come loose at 130 mph? GM mirrors are still available but they are $180/each which seems a little high to me. Thanks for the help.

If I'm understanding the problem correctly, it sounds like the door mounted brackets the mirrors attach to are damaged not the mirrors them selves.

I think the problem is in the mirrors, the slot that the rear tab on the mount goes into is not the right size. If I tighten the screw up too much the mirror will pop off of the bracket, so I have to leave the screw somewhat loose and when racing or sometimes going down the highway it pushes the mirror off the bracket.
