A freind has a 454 block out of a mid 70's GMC pic-em-up.Sometime early this year I'll get it to the machine shop, cleaned and gone over, and start from there.
Hoping to get the little mouse as close to 11's as I can this year. That would be nice graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I'd advise you all to check out the Swap Meet. I've gone every year and left a happy man with a light wallet and lots of parts for my chevy

The swap meet is Fri, Sat, Sunday. Is it worth going down on Friday to get good pickings ?

I can bring a grill, a smoker, some homebrew and one real slow '66! Seriously though, it would be pretty cool to meet up with a few TC'ers this summer.

Its been good for me. All 3 years I've been going I got some sweet deals. It wouldnt hurt to check it out once. Go on friday or saturday cause if you wait till sunday I noticed all the better stuff for the lower prices is gone. Theres also new stuff like Ground Up Restoration and other dealers who sell new parts at a show price. The question is....for the amount of parts u need, is it worth it for you to take the trip to go look? This year im going again...I actually save ahead of time to buy parts there. So much walking it will make your feet numb...Your choice, but its worth a shot for you to check it out.

Hi guys,

Tom....Friday Swap Meet day at Etown has been worth it for me over the years. What I have noticed over the last few years is that all the old car pickens are mostly gone. Used to see a few complete Chevelle noses, bucket seats, good consoles, etc. etc. Not anymore. Tough to find good used stuff. Fortunately most parts are available new these days.

For street / strip stuff........still plenty to be had. Heads, carbs, etc. etc.

If you can....park in the little Airport which is on the south side of the track. It is the best traffic route at the end of the day. The roads are tiny around Etown and heavily congested at the beginning and end of Swap Meet days.

....Joe.
