First guess: The one for the Z is meant to work with lower manifold vacuum

Doesn't do anything differently. It just does it with less vacuum. The PCV is a controled vacuum leak that pulls fresh clean air into the crank case through a breather in one valve cover and sucks out the contaminated fumes through the pcv valve and dumps them into the base of the carb so they can be burned during cyl combustion.

The PCV valve is what controls the controled vacuum leak. The wrong valve will effect idle quality.

Hilljack,
it works as described above by having a weaker spring, thus, opening at a lower vacuum.

Cool I'm getting it, so if I have a stock one in an engine with lower vacuum, then it won't open and run rich???

One other thing, the one I purchased for a 69 Z part# V160 has a straight fitting. Do they make the HI-PO version with a right angle?

Thanks! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

When you go to the parts store use their book and look up the part used on any solid cam'd high compression engine. Example would be a '69 vette 427 or a LS6 equipped Chevelle. You can get the correct 90deg bent pcv hose from places like Ground Up if you can't find the proper 90 deg valve.

Yeah that's what I did to get the first one but it's straight? I'll try Napa this time.

Thanks
