Cast aluminum please. Less leakage than anything chromed.

Aluminum is harder to keep shined up but I think it looks much better than chrome.

Chrome won't get you blown. Polished may get you polished, though :D
Chrome reflects heat back into your engine in places where it should be allowed to disipate. Polished has a richer shine, IMHO.

When chrome rusts it's done.............if aluminum dulls you can polish it.

Chrome pans have a tendency to leak, and also rust. I just removed a leaky chrome trans pan and replaced it with a Hugh's Performance aluminum one. Tranny doesn't leak a drop now. Anybody want the chrome pan? Heh heh. Actually, i'm throwing it in the garbage can.

I'll take crusty aluminum over shiny(and leaky, maybe thats why it shines)chrome any day.

Karl, for aluminum parts (my muncie m20) i use eastwood's" NON YELLOWING-FUEL PROOF-350DEG SATIN DIAMOND CLEAR to protect it from oxidation, does a great jod.

I also use it on all steel/caste iron parts to stop rust etc.

Be care full if you order the clear that its the Satin so you dont get too shinny of a look and that its also the non yellowing becasue they sell std clears too that can yellow over time.

As someone who is an electroplater for ten hours every day I have to say go aluminum. Chrome plating is very tough, but it is also heavy. Chrome does not rust, but the material underneith it does, so one tiny flaw in the plated finish and you can be sure that, given enough time, the chrome will flake bubble or peel its way off your steel. Go with the aluminum.
