I went to the dealership that sold my 1970 SS Elcamino new and spoke with the parts manager. He has worked at the dealership (Superior Chevrolet) for 30+ years. I was looking for info on whether they used a tag frame or a emblem. To my surprise he said "I have 4 or 5 of those frames at home give me your # and when I find one I'll call". I left my name and number and the very next day he called to say he had found it. I went in to pick it up and tried to pay him or buy him lunch and he wouldn't hear of it. He went on to tell me that they used those frames from the 60's thru the late 70's.It's a pretty cool accessory. I'd like to see pictures of other original dealer frames/emblems if anyone has them.

Nice score!!!! I once spoke with a guy who worked at a chevy dealer and collected many chevelle parts. I ended up buying several sets of 67 rear quarter emblems, grille and tail light panel emblems. I still have plenty of them in my garage.

A friend of mine has one from Courtesy but when it was called something else...I can't remember but he is gonna bring it to me. Part of the challenge is figuring out whether the dealership had the metal emblems or the license plate frames. I know Queen City Chevrolet had metal emblems. I am gonna be on the lookout for them from now on. One of those things you never really notice until someone points them out.
