Well, its not too common in these parts. That alone would keep me from using it. Not that its not a good product, I just want something that I can go anywhere and purchase. I "think" its fairly popular in the trucking industry, but I can't say that I've ever seen it in a retail outlet. Of course I haven't spent much time in the eastern US and a very limited time in Sweden for that matter. (edit) So, what is the most popular brand in Sweden, Shell, Total or? I lived in Norway for 3 years and it seemed that Shell, Norske Hydro and Saga had more outlets there.

Just wondering why you would choose a multi weight oil that is on the heavy side?? Just curious? I thought with the quality of the new oils now, there was no advantage to running a heavy mutlti weight oil?
I personally run straight 30 weight, but am always curious why people run the oil they do?

I was given a case of oil for christmas one year, and it happened to be wolfshead 10w-30. I hadn't heard of it either. I used it in my beater/daily driver. No complaints in that application.
wayner, thats a good question. I would like to know the answer to that one myself.

There is a local mom/pop parts store that carries Wolf's Head..I've seen it around at other places as well too.I wouldn't run 20W50 unless the motor had some miles on it,or it was built loose and has minor oil consumption issues.I prefer 10W40 or 10W30 regardless of brand,as long as it has the current/highest rating that exceeds manufacturers reccomendations

I believe Wolf's Head is part of the Shell / Pennzoil / Quaker State family of products. Wolf's Head is the "Budget Line". I'd use Pennzoil, as it is made from higher quality basestock, and it has a good additive package.

Forget everything you have heard about specific brands 20 years ago. The Pennzoil, Quaker State, and Wolf's Head of today are NOT the same oils they used to be... not even close. Though the name still exists, they are completely different formulations from what they once were. None of these companies are based in Western PA anymore, and none are using PA crude oil.

ok,this is not a daily driven car,it will only run at summer about 2000 miles a year. Why as low as down to 10w then?

Wolfshead is fine. 20W-50 is the problem.
