: 1966 Chevelle Malibu wheel question oldschl Aug 27th, 08, 5:44 AM Can anyone educate me on what color the stock steel wheels on a '66 Chevelle were painted? I am interested in putting steel wheels on my car with dog dish caps. My car is Marina blue. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone has pictures of their car with steel wheels, I'd like to see some pictures. Thanks. BillsCamino Aug 27th, 08, 9:09 AM My old '66... 66 MYSTERY CHEVELLE Aug 27th, 08, 9:18 AM If your car came originally with Dog Dish caps, then paint the wheels body color.. the back of the wheel will be black and have/should have body paint overspray on it.. ie... don't mask the wheel My car with and without steels on my web site below. If your car came with full caps..
