I found a set of 781's that need a valve job. He said they would clean up with a valve job and won't need new valves. The guy wants $250 for them. What are they worth?

I sold a set of 049 heads in the same condition for $225. I would guess they are equal in value.

Well I paid $250 for one pair the other day that were in good shape. I just picked up another pair today for $150.

i bought a set for $125 at a swap meet last year. complete.

I have seen them typically sell for 100-300 around here. Same goes for the 049s.

The last set i bought I paid 65.00. Honestly to make them nice you will have to pay 1000-1500 to make them nice. You can buy a new set of merlins for 1200-1500.
