Two topics:
Any pointers on repainting the dash on a 67? Mine has been painted before...too glossy and has runs. Should dash be removed? My windshield is out now.
Are there parts available to replace the chrome on the vent window "posts"? I see the complete assembly sold but they are pricey.

Pull the dash. Not that hard to do. 7 screws under the dash pad, 2 on each side, and 4 I believe under the left and right side bottoms. Those chrome vent window assemplies you have to buy complete as far as I know.
Good luck with the 67.

Speaking from experience with the aftermarket vent window assemblies-just take your vent window assembly and get it rechromed. I bought both reproduction sides, but the driver side was the only one that that had a good fit. The passenger side had about a 2 inch gap between the frame and the A pillar- and that was after all the adjustment. Also the passenger side glass didn't seal up or line up properly. So the lesson is, if you have the parts that can be rechromed, rechome them. If not, buy a good used set some where and get those rechromed. Aftermarket parts are a crap shoot, and usually we end up the losers.

My vent posts were pitted also and a friend had pulled a couple used 1965 GTO vent window assemblies from a junked car that weren't pitted. I installed the complete assembly....same P/N. You might be able to find a decent set off of other GM A bodies.
