Brian-
That thing is lookin sweet smile.gif
It's too bad what regular street driving will do to it :(

Runnin yet?
And what no dry cell battery yet?
Ya better save for one.
Rust sucks, the hood and those battery cables will thank you ;)

Anyway I have used those Moroso Show Car Looms before.

They didn't hold my 8mm wires tightly enough.
They wouldn't fall out but they would get a sag in them that I didn't like.

Nickel333-
If you had a set of 8.8 wires like Brian or a set of 9mm wires they would probably hold better, but I am happier with my new looms for my 8mm wires.

I purchased a loom kit and an extra set of deviders by a company called
"Made For You".

While not the cheapest they seem to work quite well for me.

thanks!
still taking care of a few small things, power steering and Radiator.

It wont see too much regular street driving anymore, just to and from the track.

Nick, I know you specifically asked for the wire separators with the Allen screws and covers, but I really like running mine under the headers. Keeps them 100% out of the way when setting lash and I haven't burned a wire in over 3 years.

A friend uses those looms you are talking about -- I think I know what you are talking about. I'll ask where he got them and post back if someone doesn't beat me to it.

PS. He burned two wires sets THIS YEAR . . .

I just put some on my big block ans love how clean they look.

Do you ever make it over to Earlville? I went a couple times last year.

Jeff

Nope, i sure didnt Jeff, but im sure i will this summer. Its a bright orange 73' Nova, if im there youde have to be blind to miss it :D
Thanks alot so far guys. Those are exaxtly what ive been looking for.
Brian, ive tried those style of wire looms several times and they allways melt for some reason!!!! And buddy you gotta drive that camaro on the street as much as possible. You have too much in it not too, That is of course unless your bound by some emmission law up there :(
Eric, I run 1 7/8" primarys on my super comps so i dont think id have enough room to run underneath the headers, i should check, other wise i would for sure. Where did you get your wire seperators?
Thanks so far guys, i need some before i make the 2 hour run down to Davenport for Power Tour. I have a burned wire and its already starting to miss a little.
Local show was tonight, and the Cruise is tomorrow. Man its gonna be a great weekend. Anybody from Iowa going to make it up to 4th street tomorrow? I would the show was packed tonite!!
Shows are a funny deal, its a 73' Nova so everyone kind of looks and rolls past cause it's not a 100 point show car, and the paint is chipped, the intirior is nice but it isnt perfect, and i drive it so nothing is polished in the engine bay BUT....Then i fire the bitch up, then they stop and stare. :D I love having an oddball year and "way too much cam for the street" Sorry i just had to get a laugh out.

Nick, no emmissions laws for 67' in NJ that i'm aware of.

its not that i cant, i just dont like to drive around the people in NJ, with exception to driving to and from the track.

Do you have any plans to go to the track this year?

Yeah i planned on going last summer after i fired the motor, but i ran into problems one after another, and i do mean one after another :( Im going to get there this summer for sure. I only have 1 problem to take care of. Im looking for an 11 flat to 11 teen. I know it will do it,{500+hp and 3260 curb weight} its up to me to make it go like that with the stick. When i go out ill definately post some times.

If it ends up being the Made For You piece I think it was probably his fault.I have used my Made For You set for three years on a daily driven street car for three years with the same set of plug wires. No problems and no complaints from me, well they could lower the price a little ;)

So which size would you get for 8.8mm wires? Would looms that fit 10.5mm wires be way huge? I've tried to fit them in 8mm looms with poor results (cheapo looms, though).

Tim.

Not sure if the 8.8mm would fit in the 8mm looms. The 10.5mm looms would definatly be way too big, and the 8mm would be pretty tight. These ones are fairly tight on my 8mm wires.

unless yo uare running huge wires, why not use good old GM engineering?
for a small block with 87 and newer heads, use early 90's TBI truck looms- they route the wires just like some of the aftermarket setups, but have a bracket that mounts on the back of each head- which is kind of big and ugly, but can be trimmed down to make it invisible from the front of the engine. it could also be adapted pretty easily to mount on a valve cover bolt on an old perimeter bolt valve cover.
for big blocks, GM sells the factory looms they used on 454's in trucks up til a couple of years ago- it's the very same setup as a deluxe 502 gets- and it costs like $15. with a little bit of tweakning, it will clear the tallest of valve covers.
but, you can only use up to 8mm wires. but really now- why do you need a plug wire any bigger than that other than to say "my wire's bigger than your wire"?

Got my new taylor wires, and my Made For you vertical looms and im tickled. As long as they dont get hot and melt{ wich theyre guarenteed not to} on the cruise tomorrow ill be thrilled. The fit is great, they look great and hold the wires tight. Thanks for your help.

I have been happy with mine fron day 1.
I also got verticle looms and Taylor wires.

The only problem I have with them is when you need to remove the valve covers it's not the easiest. But hey, it beats replacing a set of wires one at a time tongue.gif
