I don't have one in my car, but they can be built to handle alot of torque.
Many GN guys are runnin 9s and 10s with them. They are just expensive to build, $2500-$5500 depending on power level. They need many billet parts to live behind alot of torque. If your gonna be mostly street and occasional strip,a 700-R4 PROPERLY built will handle this job for you. I know cuz i built mine and it still works great!

Chris at CK built me a tranny and recommended a 700R4 for my big block. Maybe he just had an extra one laying around! ;)

Anyone else have any experience with this use and a 200r4?

NO!

But I got worried about what to do once my mild about 550hp/580t/496 ate my M-20 so I contacted the real Art Carr.

Art said that he would sell a 200 that would hold up behind an 800hp BB! It would be pricey, but would hold up!

So go from there.

It isn't the HP that breaks em, it's the torque.

OK!!

Art just said that he can make a 200 that will stand up behind an 800hp BB!

PS., I'm thinking to myself that Art is talking about at least an 800hp/800t/BB Chevy then! BUT I would definitely check w/ Art himself!!!!!!!

I'm talking like a hopped up 588"er here.

They hold up fine properly built.
they need a forward drum with a 4340 shaft, billet servo, some other minor internal upgrades and proper hydraulics setup.

I ran one behind my 427 for a couple of years and abused it. I have them out there behind 550-600 HP (and torque) combos.

Jake,

Is it possible to set up a 4L80 w/o any electronics? No kick-down or anything else b/c I would drive it just like a clutch-less Muncie!!

One that will be 100 percent manual shifted.

I may want it to have a toggle-switch/push-button activated lock up converter IF one can be used??

Yes,

I set them up like this all the time for serious strip/street cars.
I can also do a transbrake.
