my seats in my 66 SS were really bad....it was like sitting on a small trampoline....so i went over to OPG and bought some new springs and cushion.....i had my upholstery guy install it.....its crazy now....my head practically hits the roof.....my guy said "thats how they were new".....hard to believe....there is so much padding now and it doesn't give at all...i'm only 170lbs and right now i have a 40lb weight sitting on my seat trying to squish it down some

Not wasting any time! Did you buy new covers too?
Anyway, don't leave the weight on the seat very long or you may have indentations in the vinyl that could be permanent. That would really suck. Just let time take its course, & the foam will wear in.

Same thing happened to me...........there's two companies supplying the foam. One fits and one is to high. I don't know who has the right stuff. I did my seats over ten years ago and they are still to tall.

Hi MelloYellow, your seats/cushions should not be like you say they are, the problem is the OPG hard as a rock foam. The best cushions are made by American Cushion Industries & they have a limited lifetime guarantee against defects (if assembled by a pro). OPG doesn't carry ACI foam because from what I have heard, OPG makes their own. I hear your exact complaint all of the time from people that buy OPG cushions. Also PUI just started offering cushions that they are having manufactured in China (how un-American is that?) , I have seen these Chinese cushions & they are junk, the foam is too hard & the backing effortlessly separates from the cushions
