Motor Martyr Dec 7th, 04, 9:45 PM Enjoy yourself and talk to Darin! Tell him the speedy goomba sends his best reguards.
91 Camaro Dec 7th, 04, 10:34 PM That show is awesome!!!!!!!
I made it out last year for the first time and all I can say is that I'm HUGELY dissapointed I wont' be able to attend again this year. Still can't believe the size of it nor how many stickers and catalogs I ended up bringing home smile.gif
I also must say I am a VERY good person as all those titanium valves that were on display all over the place were very tempting and I left them alone :D
Anyway, have fun Mike! Let us know about any good stuff ya hear at the seminars. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Reminds me of Pulp Fiction... "You' sendin' the wolf?" :D
Harold Sutton Dec 10th, 04, 12:32 AM More importantly, who's feeding the Wolves? I sure would like to see some of the new stuff.
thrasher Dec 10th, 04, 3:07 AM With all those parts tucked inside the shop the Wolves might be eat'n good already if ya know what I mean
70SS540 Dec 11th, 04, 10:13 AM I can see the headlines in the the Laytonville News "Engine Shop Burglar Killed And Eaten"!
L89Chevelle Dec 11th, 04, 10:23 AM
Reminds me of Pulp Fiction... "You' sendin' the wolf?" :D [/QB]
Have a good time!!
By the way, what the heck is the PRI show?? PRI is the mecca of all tradeshows as far as the motorsport world is concerned. Basically something like 1300 companies fill the RCA dome and Indianapolis convention centre(all rooms, all 3 floors). And it's not a small place! Takes a good full 3 days to take a look at what each vendor has setup. All the big names like Holley, World, MSD, Comp, Moroso, Koni, Moser, etc... are there. I mean everyone (http://www.performanceracing.com/planner/exhibitor_list_all.asp?id=2608) and then some you've never heard of are there for domestic and import stuff. I went last year for the first time and I felt like I had died and gone to heaven. Lots of new products on display, thousands of catalogs and stickers... guys would actually bring rolling suitcases to carry all the free mags, catalogs and stickers even. There's also tools and machining tools. I watched a full enclosed CNC machine make a camshaft and then a 17" wheel right after. Ok, I could go on forever. But anyway it stands for Performance Racing Industry. Check it out at: Performance Racing Industry (http://www.performanceracing.com/)
70SS540 Dec 11th, 04, 4:01 PM Wow, that does sound like Heaven!! I will have to check that link out! Thanks 91 Camaro
91 Camaro Dec 12th, 04, 11:33 AM NP graemlins/thumbsup.gif
The name is actually Justin. 91 Camaro is just an extension of... nm ;)
Wolfplace Dec 12th, 04, 10:39 PM Well, we found our way home about 4AM & needless to say the Wolves were rather happy to see us.
The Performance Racing Industry show is a "hardcore" racing industry show.
It does not have the "fluff" of the SEMA show as it is more oriented to engine builders, machine shops, retailers, race teams,, etc.
There is no way you can begin to describe this show to someone who has not been there & no way you will see everything in three days.
Over 3000 booths, over 40,000 attendees & this is a "trade only" show
Next year they are moving to Orlando Fla. as there is not enough room in Indy for all the vendors.
We had a great time but I tend to spend way too much time blabbin' with all the people I know instead of payin attention to all the new stuff.
Too some questions,
Robert, a full report is probably a month long project, hopefully one of the rags will do a good write-up.
Tony,
Didn't even see the heads,
Brian,
Talked to Darin quite a bit as he was doing some short seminars for SuperFlow,,, absolutely super person & he was staying with Joe Mondello & his wife which we have known for about 30 years.
Sorry I didn't get to say hi as I was gone & didn't see your post until today.
Justin,
I don't know how anyone finds the time for the seminars :(
Nick,
No seats on the plane for Nikolas & I didn't think he would pass as a guide dog :D
No security issues while gone, no one eaten, no headlines :D
Harold,
We have a friend that takes care of the place & throws food over the fences as even though he lives on our property & the "babies" see him every day they are not real partial to him, he ain't "part of the pack" ;)
You would love the show
Thanks to everyone who posted, it was a great show but it's good to be home graemlins/beers.gif
Jp-15 Dec 13th, 04, 12:39 AM Mike, did you happen to see the boys from "Rhyne Racing" there?
Doug F. Dec 13th, 04, 7:27 AM Nice to meet you and your wife in person Mike smile.gif .
Oldani Motorsports Dec 13th, 04, 7:48 AM Missed seeing you wandering around there Mike...but there were a few things that quickly come to mind...the CN blocks for one...wow....what works of art! Also liked the composite small block intake that Wilson had. Too much stuff to describe.....
engineguy Dec 13th, 04, 12:41 PM Mike,
My apologies for not hooking up with you and your wife. Had some meetings with customers there which lasted much longer than expected and just plain ran out of time. Maybe next year . . . .
Wolfplace Dec 13th, 04, 3:09 PM Hi Doug,
It was great to finally meet you so we could talk bad about people & no one would know :D
Thanks for all your help, it is really appreciated.
JP,
Nope, didn't see them but that place would have made a canned sardine feel like it had lot's of room,,,
Steve,
There were so many people there it was a zoo,,, I was looking for Carl from CNC blocks for three days along with a few other people from here & never did see them :(
And "too much stuff to describe" doesn't even come close to coverin it,,,, ;)
Bill,
I understand completely,, too much stuff,, so little time ;)
Got to say Hi to Bill K for about 30 seconds in passing,,,, maybe next year we can all share a hot dog or somethin'
Next year we will all have to plan a "hot date",,, kinda like TC matchmakers.com or somethin' tongue.gif
Harold Sutton Dec 14th, 04, 10:51 AM Hi Wolfy, I sure would like to meet Darin Morgan and get some lowdown on the flowbench stuff,(wetflow, etc.). I sent my son down to their two day engine school a year or two ago and he was very impressed with all of them, especially Darin. It would be neet to get to go to the SEMA and PRI shows. I'm looking forward to seeing what Big Block stuff comes out this winter.
Motor Martyr Dec 14th, 04, 11:39 AM good to hear you got to talk to Darin, that would be worth the entire trip, IMO.

You got that right,, he is the kind of person you want to get real close to & hope some of the smarts rub off :D
Doesn't really seem to work in my case though graemlins/sad.gif
Harold,
Joe had the wet bench up & running at the show,,, good stuff graemlins/thumbsup.gif
He & Darin pretty much designed the wet flow deal & if you want any info just call Mondello's & talk to Joe,,, another of the really good guys in the industry ;)
Clint44 Dec 16th, 04, 11:28 PM C.N.C. engine blocks? That sounds pretty interesting. How can we find more information on that?
bowtie455 Dec 17th, 04, 12:33 AM awww man! what a slice of heaven!maybe if i'm good santa will get me a pass to P.R.I!
