: What do I have?

I'm converting a sweep gauge ip over to a round gauge ip and on the original sweep gauge dash the heater control assembly is screwed into the dash with four screws. The new dash has two screw holes on the left side (drivers side) and zero screw holes on the other side (passenger side). There are two flat plastic pieces that come out and meet up to the screw holes on the heater assembly. It looks like there should be a clip on the ends that are used to screw the heater controls. Has any one heard of this? Is there clips for this? Is it a Chevelle ,El Camino, Monte carlo? Oh yea it's a 1970 chevelle that I'm working on.

Thanks

Bill

As you thought there are two clips that slip over the two flat plastic pieces and provide a screw hole for the control. I posted two photos so you can get an idea of what they look like. They are not the usual "u" or "j" clips that can be purchased at the local hardware. I have no idea where you could get them besides a junkyard or try placing an ad in the forum's parts wanted section.

I bought a couple of u clips and drilled a hole in the end and screwed it together like that. It worked pretty good until I find the right ones. Thanks for the help.
