I have a 1970 Chevelle with a classic air AC system - this system was in the car when I bought it and does not work well. I have the dash and heater assembly pulled, as well as, all interior forward of rear seats so I can do a dash conversion, and change out all the wiring.

My question - the classic air system was not installed very well, I plan on moving it and would like to see any photos of someone's engine bay who has the factory AC installed.

Please if you have photos of your factory AC or repro done to look like factory AC please share the photos. If I am barking up the wrong tree and the factory AC system was pasted to the firewall too (like my classic air system is) then please just share your pictures of your AC assembly and tell me what I may need to move this puppy to somewhere else.

thank you for your time. (I would post pics but I don't have a USB cable here sorry.)

I was just curious as to what the issue is with your Classic A/C as I have one in my car and it works quite well in my opinion.

My issue is two-fold:

1 - it does not produce cold air (obviously this needs trouble shooting).

2 - the placement right behind the fire wall is just not where I want it.

I really wish I could post a photo today so I could illustrate the job the former owner did with this unit.

Where did you put your Classic air set-up?

Mine is somewhat like the factory A/C unit , it was called the "sure fit series. The actual unit location on the inside is located about where the original was on the passenger side firewall.
