I just decoded a BB in a 68 SS we bought and found a 1970 Hi Perf. 402/ 350 HP BB with 10.25 to 1 compression and a GM cast iron hi-rise.

I would like to know what a great cam would be to really give me some more ponies. It will have headers and It has the factory original quadrajet. I will keep stock heads.

Thanks for the responses.

That's a wide open question. But if you want to retain the stock iron man & qjet you will be limited to how much bigger you could go. I would think the best bet for you would be to add about 6 deg intake to 220 or so @ .050) and increase the lift to .500 - .520 or so. Also, get a cam with a tighter LSA (110 - 112), the stock cam has LSA of 115 (it think that's right). Doing this is probably worth 25 - 30 HP but with a lot more throttle response.

268 to 274 duration hy- cams!!!

Solid cams are some longer to be the same as their hy- cam counterparts..

Great cams but "UDHarold" is now employed by Lunati's in Memphis, TN if you want one of his Ultradyne grinds b/c I think he is grinding his family of cams for them now if not mistaken?

Please call them up and ask for Mr. Brookshire from the old Ultradyne Cam Company..

And please say pdq67 said hello..
