As many already probably know I will be throwing my 327, which is currently being rebuilt, back into my 71'. Naturally I will have to break in the cam, and i'm concerned about the fuel mixture/carb setting. I'm just wondering if anyone can give me a little advice on tuning my carb?? It would be nice to know that it's where it should be.

I have an Edelbrock 600cfm electric choke. As far as I know the only way to mess with the air/fuel mixture is with the two screws in the front. I don't know which way leans or richens the mixture????

I'm pretty sure it's decently off because back in the day, when I didn't know crap about cars, I was trying to mess with it and I think I just made it worse.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

www.edelbrock.com (http://www.edelbrock.com) look at the manuals...pretty str8 forward stuff..try the screws out about 1 1/2 turns..screw them in to lean and out to richen

Thanks for the advice. I will check out the website again and see if I can find their service number. So about 1 and 1/2 turns out should be about right? I mean set good enough to break a cam in anyway?

Just wondering......
Last time I broke in a cam my headers got red hot......is this normal? I'm guessing not.
thanks
