The project car I recently has a sweep dash, I like the look of the SS round style dash, and was wondering what is involved in physically changing it over to this style? I'm planning on a LS series engine and a manual 6 speed so I don't know if the original gauges would even work with this setup. I thought about the Covan dash, but really like the look of the OEM SS dash better. Any suggestions? Also has anyone put aftermarket gauges into the SS dash? Pics?

I done the change a few years back. i used an aftermarket dash from O.P.G. It was a good fit and everything went fairly smooth. Buying the forward engine harness was a big help.
I have a few pics of the change but they really don't show anything. big thing is just take your time. maybe label some of the parts as they come out and write some notes as you take it apart.as i recall the bigest issue was my amp meter was backwards when i got done. just had to switch 2 wires.
Good luck

Ive done it to my chevelle and elcamino. its not all that hard, just make sure you get the correct harness for the year of car. I used ones out of monte carlos. If you find a donor car, just make sure you get everything. jim

It took me a weekend to swap mine. Check out my project page for some pics of the process: http://home.comcast.net/~dcabral99/Dash_Swap.htm
