: Can anyone lend me some lugnuts for friday to use w/ Loaders slicks?
Brettd85 Aug 21st, 08, 12:40 AM I don't have any nuts guys. :D My centerlines require the shank style nuts and I will be needing another set to run Loaders slicks. I am just running stock size studs. 7/16" I think? So if anyone could bring me a spare set that would be much appreciated.
Thanks! :beers:
flink69SS Aug 21st, 08, 12:45 AM Hey Dave, you avaliable Friday...l:)l:)l:)l:)l:)

flink69SS Aug 21st, 08, 12:51 AM Really, do they need to be the opened kind?
Brettd85 Aug 21st, 08, 1:02 AM I figured you guys couldnt crack tooo many jokes if I just came out and made the joke myself.
I am going to go through tech with street tires so opened or closed doesnt much matter. Thanks Dave, love you. ;)
flink69SS Aug 21st, 08, 1:05 AM Your lugnuts ARE the best. Thanks Dave, love you. ;)
:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
65lkey Aug 21st, 08, 1:10 AM so whats the deal with lug nuts and slicks? I'm running the ones i use on my street tires. I never read anything about lug nuts on the website for tech. Please edumacate me
1966malibu Aug 21st, 08, 1:15 AM Wheel studs are suppose to engage at least their diameter into the hex portion of the lug nut. This is mandatory on all types of tires but they don't check to close if you are only running true streets ;).

ah ok I should be fine, the studs stick out a least an 1" of the rims my slicks are on.
Fat Tire Aug 21st, 08, 10:17 AM Brett,
Do your Centerlines take the .480" shank or the 1.30" longer style shank?
Brettd85 Aug 21st, 08, 10:30 AM Brett,

They are the .480" shank. I already have lugnuts for those, they are my street wheels. I am going to be using Mike's slicks so I dont think the nuts will work as they are steelies.
Dave Aug 21st, 08, 11:18 AM I found My old deep set acorn lugs. I'll bring them.
Brettd85 Aug 21st, 08, 12:06 PM Thanks Dave! I owe you big for lending me your nuts...
66 Buick Special Aug 21st, 08, 2:42 PM I have both deep acorn nuts and the Weld Wheel shank style in 7/16 already in the trunk in case anybody comes short. The acorns are closed but I think they could be opened up with a little persuasion.
gotago Aug 21st, 08, 3:21 PM If you're running drag radials the tech dude never said a word to me and mine are closed. Slicks might be different. (yes I know I'm gone but I did run there in April, remember)
66SSFan Aug 21st, 08, 3:26 PM You should be fine with the closed ones, they are MT ET Street drag radials.
Brettd85 Aug 21st, 08, 4:24 PM And I already went through tech, if I had to do it again I would just do it on my street tires then change them for the slicks.

That's exactly what I'm doing.
