: neutral safety switch wiring

so i got a switch for my shifter and all i need to know is if i should splice it in the purple starter wire or run a relay and all that crap cause it says the switch is only rated at 10 amps.

I just ran mine to the original column shift wiring Ben.

It only draws current for a moment when cranking. Not like it's on all the time like a fuel pump switch or electric fan switch.

It's working just fine for me.

ok so if i spliced it into the purple wire it would be just fine?

ben, you want to run it through a relay. I mounted mine on the plastic underside of my dash. The micro switch will work ok for a little while wired direectly in, but it will eventually break because of all the amperage.

This is th eonly picture where you can see the relay under the dash a little bit.

Sorry for giving bad info. I thought he was talking about the purple neutral safety switch wire that was stock for the column shift. That is what I just lengthened to reach my nss on my floor shifter.

I used the stock purple wire also and wired that directly to my tremec.

I hope you have squeeze because then you may have a chance. The Vacuum pump isn't gonna be enough,,,, hey wait a minute,,,,, what are you actually using that vacuum pump for??????????? Probalby worn out already and not even on the car. :D
